The Strand Head Chef
The Strand restaurant, 807 N Mills avenue in Orlando is looking for a Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations. Chefs Alda and Joe Rees, awarded Michelin bibs since 2022, and Orlando Sentinel restaurant of the year in 2022, are looking for an energetic, dedicated and driven individual eager to head up the kitchen and take the restaurant and sister bar, dba, to the next level. The right individual will lead our kitchen team, and help develop and expand the perfect the menus that our clients have come to love.
Responsibilities
Lead mentor and manage culinary team
Develop and plan menus
Manage food costs and inventory
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation quality and appearance
Ensure compliance with health codes
Manage cleaning and sanitation schedule for equipment
Schedule staff
Qualifications
Understanding of menu and recipe development
Strong leadership skills
Proven Ability to run a profitable kitchen
Technical proficiency , knife and culinary skills
Basic computer knowledge
Understanding of sanitation and compliance laws
Previous kitchen management experience
Knowledge of natural wine and craft beer and spirits, cocktails
5 year industry experience
Hardworking
Creative, organized, passionate, focused
Salary commensurate with experience, starting at 57K
