The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for a multi-tiered complex processing system. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks.
Specific tasks will include:
- Leading the technical design for modernization of legacy systems.
- Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
- Making changes in multiple systems in real time to enable changes requested by user group.
- Implementing technical solutions.
- Developing tax processing system components and maintaining existing processing systems.
- Supporting production tasks including analysis of issue, proposing and implementing solutions for defect resolution.
- Coordinating with development team on development activities and integration testing.
- Developing technical design documents and program specifications.
- Guiding requirements gathering sessions.
- Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work.
- Coding, and performing unit and integration tests of programming assignments.
- Writing and tuning SQL.
- Supporting user testing efforts.
- Performance tune new and existing applications.
- Mentoring less experienced staff.
Software Architect
Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.
Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
- 84 months experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP and XML.
- 84 months experience with Java programming in an IBM development environment using IDE of IBM's Rational Application Developer (RAD) that are deployed to Websphere Application Server (WAS).
- 60 months of IBM DB2 experience working with DB2 databases and experience with XML schemas (definition, querying and automated generation).
- 12 months experience with a Government organization, which includes business knowledge, technical design, development, maintenance and end user support of complex systems.
- 60 months experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases.
- 60 months of experience in IBM MQSeries.
- 84 months of experience in system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems and writing technical design specification documents for multifaceted component-based systems.
