Base pay range

$105,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will design, implement, maintain, and secure computing systems and networks. Collaborating with a team of engineers, you will deliver robust, secure, and high-availability services that support a world-class semiconductor manufacturing environment.

This is a permanent/FTE position which will be hybrid with 3 days per week onsite in East Bloomington, MN. Target pay range is between $103,000-119,000.

Key Responsibilities

1. Server Administration: Install, manage, and monitor server operating systems and hardware.
2. Cybersecurity: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to address vulnerabilities and maintain a secure computing environment.
3. Incident Response: Provide immediate support for critical infrastructure issues.
4. Automation: Develop scripts using PowerShell to automate routine administrative tasks.
5. System Upgrades: Perform updates and upgrades for systems, including new releases and hardware models.
6. Backup & Redundancy: Maintain strategies to ensure data security and system reliability.
7. Metrics & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and metrics for management.
8. Lifecycle Management: Oversee hardware and software lifecycles.
9. Project Planning: Participate in project planning and manage incidents as they arise.

Skills & Knowledge

1. Server Management: Expertise in managing server hardware using industry-standard tools (e.g., HPSIM, KACE).
2. Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Power Automate.
3. Operating Systems: Advanced skills in Linux and Windows administration.
4. Storage Systems: Expertise in Storage Area Networks (SAN) and storage array management (e.g., Hitachi, NetApp).
5. Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure, Intune, and Entra.
6. Networking: Strong understanding of core network services (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
7. Security: Proven knowledge of server and network security best practices.
8. Disaster Recovery: Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
9. Database Management: Experience with Oracle and SQL databases.
10. Virtualization & Containers: Proficiency in VMware and Hyper-V environments.
11. Identity Management: Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra), and Group Policy.
12. Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
13. Documentation: Ability to create and maintain clear, technical documentation.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
2. 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related role.
3. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
4. Up-to-date knowledge of system security best practices.

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid remote role, requiring three days per week onsite.
