Base pay range
$105,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will design, implement, maintain, and secure computing systems and networks. Collaborating with a team of engineers, you will deliver robust, secure, and high-availability services that support a world-class semiconductor manufacturing environment.
This is a permanent/FTE position which will be hybrid with 3 days per week onsite in East Bloomington, MN. Target pay range is between $103,000-119,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Administration: Install, manage, and monitor server operating systems and hardware.
- Cybersecurity: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to address vulnerabilities and maintain a secure computing environment.
- Incident Response: Provide immediate support for critical infrastructure issues.
- Automation: Develop scripts using PowerShell to automate routine administrative tasks.
- System Upgrades: Perform updates and upgrades for systems, including new releases and hardware models.
- Backup & Redundancy: Maintain strategies to ensure data security and system reliability.
- Metrics & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and metrics for management.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee hardware and software lifecycles.
- Project Planning: Participate in project planning and manage incidents as they arise.
Skills & Knowledge
- Server Management: Expertise in managing server hardware using industry-standard tools (e.g., HPSIM, KACE).
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Power Automate.
- Operating Systems: Advanced skills in Linux and Windows administration.
- Storage Systems: Expertise in Storage Area Networks (SAN) and storage array management (e.g., Hitachi, NetApp).
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure, Intune, and Entra.
- Networking: Strong understanding of core network services (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
- Security: Proven knowledge of server and network security best practices.
- Disaster Recovery: Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Database Management: Experience with Oracle and SQL databases.
- Virtualization & Containers: Proficiency in VMware and Hyper-V environments.
- Identity Management: Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra), and Group Policy.
- Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Documentation: Ability to create and maintain clear, technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related role.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Up-to-date knowledge of system security best practices.
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid remote role, requiring three days per week onsite.
