Temporary Litigation Paralegal – Labor & Employment
Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Temporary Paralegal to support its Labor & Employment Practice. This role reports to the Manager of Legal Practice Support and will assist attorneys and trial teams with case management and litigation support. The position is based in Houston, Dallas, or Chicago with a hybrid schedule. Flexibility for overtime is required. The role is expected to last at least a year but is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee electronic document collections, searches, and analysis.
- Maintain case-related databases and collaborate with vendors and IT teams.
- Assist with discovery requests, document productions, and preparation of legal filings.
- Draft, proofread, and edit court filings for state and federal courts using eFile systems.
- Prepare subpoenas and manage service of process.
- Conduct cite-checking, Bluebooking, and create tables of authority/contents.
- Track case deadlines and coordinate with the calendaring department.
- Support deposition and trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and witness materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5-7 years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Strong case management and trial preparation skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Kofax PDF, and iManage preferred.
- Familiarity with litigation support tools (Case Notebook, Relativity, ClientSite) is a plus.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules of procedure.
- Excellent communication, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
