Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned.

• Main back stock in good order.

• Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.

• Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required.

• Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.

• Provide excellent customer service, address needs promptly and effectively, and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.

• Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.

• FOLLOW established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.

• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.

• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.

• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.

• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Job Skills

• Visually examine products for quality and freshness.

• Read labels and familiarize oneself on various products.

• Assist with periodic inventory checks.

Experience

• No prior retail experience required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Lift 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
• Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Move body to bend, twist, squat, and reach.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
• Work in temperatures below 32°F, 32-40°F, and above 90°F.
• Work in a wet and cold environment.
• Handle knives and cutting equipment.
• Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
