Job Description

We are seeking a skilled team member to join our Prepared Foods team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing, serving, and stocking various hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza.

Responsibilities
  • Cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza.
  • Sample products to customers to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Stock hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from the kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators.
  • Check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary.
  • Bail and consolidate recyclables to maintain a clean and sustainable environment.
  • Assist the Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items to maximize sales potential.
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required to maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations to ensure a safe working environment.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Lift 50 pounds safely and effectively.
  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
  • Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions throughout the day.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), between 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Operate tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • May require use of ladders.
