Electrical Field Service Technician

About the Role
An industry leader in industrial gases and engineering is seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to join its Regional Reliability team near Beaumont, TX area. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operation of production facilities across multiple locations.
As an Electrical Field Service Technician , you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs while troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues. You will work independently in the field, making critical technical decisions that directly impact reliability and performance.
This position offers a mix of office and field work, with up to 50% travel required to various facilities. Accessibility during off-hours is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment, including: Substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relays, battery/UPS systems, and transformers (up to 138kV). Induction and synchronous motors (up to 40,000 HP and 15,000 volts). Backup generators (up to 1500kW).
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance using techniques such as IR thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharge analysis, and power quality assessments.
• Support root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements.
• Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation for electrical projects.
• Assess equipment performance data to optimize efficiency.
• Provide on-site or remote guidance to plant personnel and contractors, ensuring safe and effective operations.
• Drive the resolution of high-impact electrical issues with urgency and integrity.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance (medium voltage 5kV-15kV systems).
• Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office, CMMS systems (Infor EAM preferred), and email-based communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor?s degree in electrical engineering / electrical technology OR Licensed Journeyman Electrician.
• Understanding of industrial regulatory standards, codes, and control systems.
• Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
