A premier, nationally recognized consulting firm is seeking a Principal Building Envelope Consultant to lead and expand its presence in San Diego. With a strong national footprint and industry-leading expertise, our firm delivers high-performance, durable, and sustainable building envelope solutions for projects ranging from new construction to upgrades, maintenance, and repositioning of existing buildings.

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position for a highly experienced building envelope professional with a proven track record in technical excellence, client management, and business development. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, a strong book of business, and the ability to drive strategic growth in the San Diego market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor on complex building envelope projects, guiding clients through design, procurement, and execution.
  • Lead and develop client relationships, leveraging existing industry connections to expand business opportunities.
  • Oversee project teams, providing mentorship and technical direction to engineers, architects, and consultants.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop industry-proven, durable, and sustainable design solutions.
  • Ensure quality assurance and risk management in all aspects of project execution.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations to enhance market presence.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, architecture, or structural engineering.
  • RA or PE license required.
  • Established industry reputation with a book of business and the ability to generate new project opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and business development skills, with the ability to drive growth and client engagement.
  • Expertise in building envelope systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Ability to work on-site in San Diego at least four times per week.
