Job Summary:

Our client, a successful custom manufacturer experiencing its best year in over five decades, is seeking a results-oriented Director of Operations to join their executive leadership team. This role will be pivotal in driving operational excellence and strategic growth initiatives, focusing on managing a dynamic environment with multiple product development cycles. The Director will influence both day-to-day operations and the broader strategic direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all operational activities to ensure productivity, safety, and efficiency in the development and production of diverse product lines.
  • Financial Management: Own the operational P&L, focusing on budget adherence and financial health. Mentor team leaders on financial management principles to promote accountability and fiscal awareness.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to shape and execute strategic growth initiatives, with an eye on market trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement efforts, ensuring best practices are integrated into processes and fostering a culture where improvement is embraced as a constant goal.
  • Team and Culture Development: Build and mentor high-performing teams, encouraging a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and positive morale.
  • Performance Metrics: Set and monitor key performance metrics to ensure operational goals are met or exceeded, focusing on efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in operations leadership, with proven experience in managing complex, dynamic environments with multiple product development cycles.
  • Continuous Improvement Expertise: Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement processes across operations.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong experience in P&L management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Leadership Style: Collaborative, mentoring approach with a focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture.
  • Proactive Mindset: A decisive, results-driven professional who maintains urgency in meeting both short-term and long-term goals.
