Position Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the proper decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments. You will operate sterilization equipment and ensure that surgical instruments are processed accurately and safely for clinical use.Key Responsibilities:Decontamination & Inspection:Decontaminate surgical instruments per manufacturer instructions and departmental guidelines.Operate decontamination equipment and inspect instruments to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and integrity after processing.Tray Assembly & Sterilization:Assemble surgical trays according to count sheets, ensuring that devices are sterile and easy for end users to access.Package or containerize instrument sets following manufacturer guidelines.Load sterilizers, ensuring that items are not punctured or compromised, and run sterilizer tests daily to maintain equipment functionality.Tracking & Documentation:Use the department tracking system for all aspects of instrument processing.Document sterilizer load contents, confirm cycle parameters, and record all pertinent sterilization information.Sterilizer Operations & Storage:Operate sterilizers according to manufacturer instructions, ensuring proper biological monitoring.Unload sterilizers safely and store items in designated storage areas according to tracking system locations.Department Maintenance:Maintain cleanliness of the sterile processing department and ensure the cleanliness of all equipment.Qualifications:Education:High school graduate or equivalent required.Licensure/Certification:CRCST, CBSPDT, or CIS certification preferred.Experience:1-3 years of experience in Central Sterile Processing (CSPD) preferred. Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician , The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
