Job Description We are seeking an experienced
Occupational Therapist to work in
San Francisco for a large non-profit organization working with geriatrics.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provides Occupational Therapy treatment & interventions to patients.
- Provides training, guidance, and supervision to Rehabilitation Aides and patient/family members in carrying out the Functional Maintenance Program.
- Participates actively in the interdisciplinary team by offering clinical expertise in team planning, problem-solving, and processes.
- Fulfills all administrative requirements, including but not limited to clinic-based supervision of the rehabilitation department in collaboration with PT, attendance at team & staff meetings, and recording & tracking of OT rehabilitation equipment.
- Communicate observed staffing needs/changes and further program development needs to the supervisor.
- Review restorative care plans monthly.
- Consult with activities department as requested regarding activity adaptations.
- Develop special programs according to patient needs.
- Complete documentation/reports as required and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
- May require the use of a personal vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities): - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license with the state of California through the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT).
- Successful completion of certification exam & initial registration through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population; appropriate clinical placement experience may be substituted.
- Two years of experience in physical disabilities, with a focus on working with the geriatric or frail population required.
- Physical activities require the ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, and repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and fingers.
- Bilingual in Cantonese or Mandarin preferred.
