Nurse shadowing allows a student to follow a licensed nurse as they perform their day-to-day tasks. It involves observing and learning from a registered nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or another healthcare professional in a clinical environment. Nurse shadowing is different that clinical rotations. This position shadows a licensed LPN and/or RN in their daily activities allowing for observation of communication skills and provides knowledge building while working with residents/patients. No direct care is provided to residents/patients.nnESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:nnObserve and shadow assigned LPN or RN in their daily dutiesnnObserve patient status and responses. Document and report observations to preceptornnReviews temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect variances from normal and reports observations to preceptor.nnObtain supplies as requestednnREQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:nnDisplays optimism fostering a spirit of teamwork, positive attitude and conflict resolution among co-workers.
