The Close-Out Specialist is for Subcontract closeout and will be assigned to NREL's Acquisition Services Group support manager and generally will be expected to work with the Subcontract Administrators and Buyers within Acquisitions Services to gather appropriate documentation and information required to close expired Fixed Price and Labor Hour Type subcontracts. This is a junior resource which will be responsible for documenting closeout action, performing closeout activities within Oracle EBS, flagging subcontracts for archiving/destruction, and other related duties as assigned. This resource will work closely with NREL's Closeout Program Administrator, may support closeout audit requests, and update closeout records/spreadsheets as appropriate. This is high volume low complexity work with the expectation that this resource close 25-50 subcontracts per week once fully trained (~1000 agreements are required to be closed-out).
The Compliance Specialist is for Subcontract compliance and will be assigned to NREL's Acquisition Support Group PPC manager and generally will be expected to work with the Subcontract Administrators and Buyers within Acquisitions Services to gather information on compliance requirements, answers questions regarding compliance questions, help support the preparation for the PERT, help support policy/procedure rewrites and work the customer help desk as needed.
Responsibilities:
Closeout Support
- Closeout the backlog of subcontracts for the acquisition services group.
- Track and report out the number of subcontracts completed weekly.
- Document the closeout files as needed for the closeout to be completed.
Compliance Support
- Help answer internal questions on policy/procedures.
- Help preparation for PERT.
- Help with the PPC mailbox and customer help desk.
- Help gather information for new compliance requirements and documents.
- Work with the compliance manager to accomplishing tasks needed for this group.
- Meet weekly to report out the progress of all compliance issues in progress and not started.
- Train with Subject matter expert to be prepared to support compliance issues.
Requirements:
- Education - High School degree plus 3-5 years related experience required.
- Licenses & Certifications - Valid Colorado driver's license.
- Ability to work with high volume workload and quick turnarounds.
- Ability to work down a list of tasks.
- Customer service skills.
- Project solving skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
- Must be US citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
Location/Work Arrangement:
- Subcontractor Personnel will work remotely 8 AM - 5 PM Mountain Time, Monday-Friday unless otherwise directed by NREL. No travel required.

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $75,000 and $89,000 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
