Job Description A law firm is seeking to hire an AP/AR Accountant. In this seat, you will be responsible for AP and AR processing, billing, bank and account reconciliations, light journal entries, ACH work (minimal), and other projects as assigned. The ideal candidate has experience using various ERPs, is proficient in Excel, specifically Pivot Tables, and has the desire to grow within the seat.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Provide accounting support by reviewing financial information; convert data to general ledger system; obtain supplementary information for preparing financial statements
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, as well as project based reconciliations of job costs including subcontractor, labor and other expenses.
- Prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system
- Support in the management of accounts payable/account receivable; including collection efforts
- Assist the controller in preparing and analyzing ad-hoc financial reports
- Maintain company accounting procedures and processes
- Reconciles all assigned balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to cash accounts, accounts receivable and property
- Ability to monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. General Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist in performing month-end, quarter end and year-end closings, taxes and audits
Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required
- 2+ years accounting experience, preferably within the construction sector
- Strong GL / GAAP experience, AP / AR & Operational Accounting
- Experience with SAGE 300/100 software a plus
- Knowledge of Sales & Use Tax
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Well organized and able to appropriately prioritize tasks
- Professional and clear communicator
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
