Our team is looking for a
Mechanical Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the
Engineering Manager and will have an
onsite work structure at our Creedmoor, NC site.
To be considered for the Mechanical Design Engineer opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design
- Experience with CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX
- Proficiency in FEA and other analytical tools
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards, regulations, and certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration
- ANSYS or NASTRAN experience preferred
- Aerospace industry experience preferred
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:- Design, analyze, and develop aerospace components and systems, including structures, mechanisms, and assemblies, using CAD and CAE tools
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings, adhering to industry and company standards
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations to validate designs under various operating conditions
- Develop test plans and procedures to validate the performance and durability of mechanical components
- Analyze test data and optimize designs based on performance outcomes
- Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate risks in the design process
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
- Communicate design intent and present technical information clearly to stakeholders and customers
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure that components meet required specifications

Salary Range:- $80,000-90,000/year, based on experience
