Job Description

Position Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Mechanical-Electrical Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating precise mechanical drawings focusing on sheet metal fabrication and electrical diagrams. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential, as you will be responsible for translating engineering concepts into detailed technical drawings that ensure accuracy and functionality.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, with an emphasis on sheet metal designs.

  3. Collaborate closely with engineers to understand design specifications and project requirements effectively.
  4. Revise existing drawings according to feedback from engineers or changes in project specifications.
  5. Maintain organized documentation of design revisions, specifications, and related materials throughout the development process.
  6. Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other project-related documentation as needed.
  7. Assists R&D Engineer who builds, installs, and tests Prototype automotive AC and heat systems.
  8. Check the technical accuracy of the work.
  9. Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards (such as ASME Y14.5 for GD&T) and BOMs
  10. All other duties assigned by the supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Mechanical-Electrical Drafter or similar role (2+ years preferred).
  3. Proficient in SolidWorks; familiarity with the sheet metal module is strongly desired.
  4. Experience creating electrical diagrams/schematics using CAD software tools; knowledge of wiring layouts is a plus.
  5. Understanding of manufacturing processes related to sheet metal fabrication (cutting, bending, welding).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Familiarity with additional CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor is advantageous.
  2. Knowledge of relevant industry codes/standards for mechanical design and electrical systems.
  3. Experienced with HVAC design, a plus.
