Job Title: Avionics Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, the Avionics Engineer will:

  1. Address and respond to engineering requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Provide technical input for the development of commercial proposals.
  3. Create documentation that complies with regulatory standards.
  4. Design or modify electrical and avionics systems in collaboration with the engineering team.
  5. Prepare and implement supporting documents, including engineering orders, manuals, and certifications. (EO, AFMS, ELA, W&B, ICA, MEL)
  6. Deliver technical documentation and drawings to meet production and installation timelines.
  7. Support system installations and modifications with on-site or remote troubleshooting.
  8. Conduct technical research and present findings for technical manuals and system guides.
  9. Manage customer requests, obtaining formal approvals as necessary.
  10. Source equipment, liaising with vendors for recommendations and follow-ups.
  11. Assess subcontractor quotes and technical documentation.
  12. Contribute to certification programs and collaborate with approval authorities.
  13. Lead, mentor, and motivate the engineering team to enhance skill development.
  14. Review and refine engineering documents as required.
  15. Analyze incidents, propose improvements, and optimize processes.
  16. Promote innovation to ensure the organization remains competitive and meets industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Avionics Engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in avionics
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
  • Familiarity with standards such as RTCA DO, ARINC, and TSO
  • Advanced proficiency in French and English
  • Skilled in MS Office and AutoCAD

Preferred Assets:

  • Experience with aircraft system interfaces
  • Background in project management
  • Technical writing expertise
  • Familiarity with AS9000 or ISO 9001 Quality Assurance systems
  • TCCA ā€˜Eā€™ License
