Our Client, a manufacturer / distributor is looking for a Purchasing Manager.


As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire Supply Chain process. This includes sourcing and managing suppliers in Asia, ensuring that all materials and products meet the company's quality standards and are delivered on time. You will also handle inventory management, maintaining optimal stock levels to meet production demands without overstocking. A key part of your role will be identifying gaps in the existing Supply Chain process and making necessary recommendations for improvements. This could involve streamlining operations, negotiating better terms with suppliers, or implementing new technologies to enhance efficiency. You will lead a team of Buyers, providing guidance and support to ensure they perform at their best. Collaboration will be essential, as you will work closely with Production, Warehousing, Sales, and other departments to ensure a seamless flow of goods and information throughout the organization. Given that this is a small business, you will be expected to wear multiple hats and take on various responsibilities beyond your primary role. This might include assisting with logistics participating in strategic decision-making, and contributing to overall business growth.


As the ideal candidate for this role you must have 10+ years of Purchasing or Supply Chain experience working in a fast-paced environment. You must have experience in sourcing from Asia. You must have experience in managing the entire Supply Chain process - Sourcing, Inventory management, Logistics, Warehousing etc. . The ability to influence stakeholders, create value and showcase assertiveness when needed is the key to success in this role. You must have the ability to build strong relationships and hold people accountable. You must be a people person, showcase strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
