Established and successful Real Estate Developer is hiring an Estimator (low-rise) to join their team. In this role, you’ll prepare cost estimates and bid documents for construction projects, analyze design drawings, specifications, reports, initiate RFIs and more.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs including all labour, material, time, and equipment costs
• Assist in meetings with clients and partners
• Participate in field visits and pre-tender meetings
• Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely fashion
• Maintain cost database
• Co-ordinate subcontractor submissions
• Co-ordinate field visits to qualify information
• Reporting and summarizing information for management
• Coordinating submission of tender documents
• Review RFP’s and contractual documents and prepare cost proposals and final tender documents for clients within given time frames
• Identify and evaluate risk mitigation strategies
• Preparation of project binders – maintain all supporting documentation around estimates
• Tracking of site instruction and change orders
• Prepare shop drawings as required
• Complete project on time and under budget

Requirements:

• Completion of relevant college or university program
• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential estimating
• Solid understanding of home building and construction
• Able to interpret and read blueprints
• Strong ability to use Excel
• Knowledge of CAD software
• Knowledge of PlanSwift an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders
• Must be detail-oriented
• Effective decision-making skills
