CLASSIFICATION: Exempt



POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Team Leads and Direct Support Specialists/Personal Attendants.



ROLE: Under the supervision of the Director, provide coordination of support services and supervise the direct delivery support services to people with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: B.S. in Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: 2 years direct support experience with people with similar specific needs as those served (i.e. behaviorally challenged, medically involved) or psychiatric diagnosis population in a community based or residential setting.


Primary Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of Support Specialists and Team Leads engaged in providing direct Supported Living Services to the customers.
  • Observe and evaluate employee performance to ensure quality service and compliance with goals of objectives of the customer receiving support, and following the policies and procedures of Aya Living Inc.
  • Train employees in proper operational procedures, functions and company policy.
  • Coordinate scheduling of staff to meet the needs and requirements of the individual receiving service.
  • Review and assist in managing master schedules.
  • Maintain an ongoing record of employee performance for those directly supervise.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding employee performance and services rendered.
  • Analyze and record personnel and operational data and write regular activity reports for the benefits of the customer, circle of support and/or the Regional Center or other agencies as needed.
  • Prepare administrative reports and documents as necessary.
  • Inspect work areas and operating equipment to ensure a safe and appropriate working environment.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies, equipment and provide necessary training to ensure quality and timely service and efficient operations.
  • Assure that the individuals served are provided with assistance in all aspects of their daily living and that they receive supports in all areas needed to live a full active life of their choice.
  • In conjunction with the individual, assure implementation and follow through on all aspects of the Individual Program Plan.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to individuals regarding personal issues and life choices.
  • Act as an advocate for people served.
  • Act as liaison/consultant to individual’s team.
  • Attend all programmatic and interim meetings.
  • Coordinate and attend weekly team meetings.
  • Assure all data collection and daily documentation is completed.
  • Follow all Adult Protective Services reporting guidelines by law relating to mandated reporting.
  • Abide by Aya Living Inc. and State Laws regarding customer confidentiality.
  • Assure that the human and civil rights of persons served are being respected at all times.
  • Communicate with day program or employment services as necessary in a polite friendly manner.
