Role Overview:
We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineering Manager to oversee large-scale projects that involve mechanical system designs. This leadership role combines technical proficiency with operational management, where you will guide a team of engineers to ensure high-quality, efficient project delivery. You will be responsible for managing resources, meeting deadlines, and maintaining industry standards across various projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a mechanical engineering team, ensuring effective resource allocation for successful project completion.
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development.
- Work closely with project managers to define project scope, complexity, and scheduling needs.
- Provide technical leadership to ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered on time.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations while maintaining a focus on sustainability and efficient design practices.
- Oversee the distribution of tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to business development efforts, offering technical insights during proposal preparation.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects with a focus on quality and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing mechanical systems for large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in managing and developing engineering teams.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with energy modeling software is a plus.
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design tools is an advantage.
- Additional certifications in sustainability or high-performance buildings are a plus.
