Job Description

Responsibilities, Skills, and Experience:

Leads the sanitation team in safe working practices including chemical handling, PPE and OSHA

requirements.

Understands the manufacturing process and equipment/parts design in order to ensure proper

equipment sanitation and efficient startups.

Problem solves with Owners and facilities Management Teams, with an open mind & the spirit of co-operation in a positive and professional manner. Responsible for efficiently supporting a variety of operational facilities in their sanitation and cleaning needs; work in conjunction with Management

Team as needed.

Establishes standards and procedures for work of staff; will be required to lead by example. Assists in the development, organization and participation of staff in departmental training programs; provides on-going supervision and coaching to improve operations with positive reinforcement and goals.

Maintains records and daily logs.

Accountability for all Departmental stock & inventory control. Periodically inventories supplies and requisitions and distributes supplies and equipment; places orders as required. Maintains records of supplies used.

Daily inspects and evaluates cleanliness and physical condition of facilities, and submits reports of recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, replacement of tools and equipment, etc.

Makes recommendations for improvements.

Ensures all safety procedures are followed.

Business & management principles involved with planning, resource allocation, & leadership technique.

Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively.

Reading and comprehension abilities for proper use of chemicals

Must be able to follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines when using and storing chemicals.

Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of food safety initiatives by strict compliance to all FDA and SQF safety protocols and procedures.

As needed, must be able to work all shifts, weekends. Knowledge and understanding of principles and methods of training and instruction.

Must possess a general knowledge of all cleaning equipment operation. Excellent knowledge of Production machines.

Proactive and self-starting, working in a culture of goal setting with continuous improvement focus and training and mentoring of team members.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Experience with GMP's, HAACP, sanitation, process improvement, plant safety programs, GFSI and quality assurance.

Education Requirement: Minimum High School diploma or its equivalent

Previous supervisory experience required

Bilingual in English and Spanish
