Job Title: Materials Senior Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Senior Project Manager to join our team in Columbia, SC . The successful candidate will oversee materials engineering projects, ensuring quality control, regulatory compliance, and timely project delivery. This leadership role involves managing project teams, coordinating with clients, and driving innovative solutions in materials testing and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage materials engineering projects related to construction, transportation, and infrastructure.
- Oversee materials testing, analysis, and quality assurance for various materials such as concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soils.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to provide technical expertise and project updates.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Supervise and mentor project teams, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor materials performance and quality control processes.
- Stay informed of advancements in materials engineering, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope and budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within one year.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in materials project management role.
- Extensive knowledge of materials testing standards, including ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT specifications.
- Proficiency with materials testing equipment and software for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with construction materials testing laboratory operations.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials practices and green building certifications.
