The Accounting/Finance Director is in charge of all accounting and finance operations within the company. The role includes managing and filing financial statements, budgets and forecasts, analyzing complex data, and making strategic financial decisions. The ideal Oil/Gas professional is analytically astute, is well-versed in accounting principles and procedures, and possesses strong financial foresight.
Duties:
• Produce financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Oversee company cash flow and treasury operations
• Maintain lender relationships and complete necessary reporting
• Handle the processing of payables and receivables accounts
• Verify the correctness of financial data and ensure transaction accuracy
• Ensure internal and external audit accuracy
• Conduct financial data analysis for pattern, trend, and anomaly detection
• Offer division heads financial guidance and align financial decisions with company strategy
• Create, implement, and track yearly budgets
• Utilize data to predict future financial trends strategically
• Advice executive management on strategic financial planning
• Prepare monthly reports and presentations for the executive management and board
• Create and implement finance policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
• Stay updated on current market trends and respond accordingly • Mentor and supervise accounting staff
• Define internal workflows and monitor their execution
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• At least 10 years of finance and accounting experience
• Experience in Oil & Gas industry required
• Prior Public accounting experience is a plus
• Deep understanding of GAAP and federal and state tax laws
• Proven expertise in financial data analysis and forecasting.
