Job Title: Senior Engineer – Substation

Location: Juno Beach, FL

Business Unit: Engineering & Construction

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Substation to manage substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. This role involves working with internal teams, external engineers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery in line with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead substation projects through all phases, from early-stage design to commissioning.
• Support engineering requirements, scope, and due diligence for compliance with interconnection agreements and industry codes (IEEE, NESC, ASCE).
• Manage external consultants, secure bids, and coordinate sourcing of engineering, geotechnical, and construction services.
• Collaborate with project teams to secure substation sites, permits, and design updates.
• Review interconnection studies and agreements to ensure compliance with Transmission Owner and ISO requirements.
• Oversee major material orders to minimize delays and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide technical support and feedback to the E&C Estimating Team.
• Ensure projects meet safety, cost, and efficiency objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in substation design and engineering for high-voltage projects.
• Project Engineering/Management experience with a strong action-oriented approach.
• PMP and/or P.E. certification is a plus.
• Some travel required.
