ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Goal of this role from Manager: Ensure Verizon/SAICPM’s are staying on track and being able to provide PM reports and updates to leadership. But they also need to understand networking and the “tech”speak.
- No PMP required - the technical in data and networking technologies experience will be the key in the success of this role.
- VITA has an immediate need of a Technical PM to oversee the VSP Net project/transition from a legacy service to the VDN-managed platform with Verizon.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Data and Network Monitoring technologies, standards, and practices for management of the broadband circuit portfolio.
- Ability to assist with the Data Networking services lifecycle from strategic planning to operations and financials, from a broadband circuit perspective.
- Ability to perform Data Networking technology and operational assessments to oversee the Virginia State Police transition project.
- Project Management experience and the ability to track milestones/deliverables and report out to VITA leadership.
- Experience in managing general network technology projects.
- Understands best practices in service management including contract and vendor management in an outsourcing or shared service.
- Responsible for responding to and resolving agency and customer escalations
Recommended Knowledge/Experiences:
- Experience in State/Agency is a plus. ITIL Foundations certification desirable
- Experience deploying and managing multiple location network solutions.
