Job Title: Service Technician – BAS Controls Specialist

Summary

We seek a highly skilled Building Automation System (BAS) Controls Service Technician for a full-time position in Tacoma, WA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial HVAC controls, a local and stable work history, and at least three years of hands-on experience with BAS installation, troubleshooting, and optimization. This role is critical for ensuring peak system performance and energy efficiency across commercial building environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain building automation systems (BAS), focusing on HVAC equipment, chillers, and associated controls.
• Commission and upgrade systems, including programming, calibration, and testing of BACnet and DDC-based protocols for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize systems with leading BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Alerton, Distech, ALC, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide detailed system performance report recommendations and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Utilize tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam to update drawings, generate documentation, and log system changes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in BAS service, maintenance, or installation within commercial settings.
• Strong HVAC controls and systems knowledge, including chillers, air handlers, VFDs, and associated equipment.
• Proficiency in BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, and ALC, and familiarity with BACnet and DDC protocols.
• Technical expertise with software tools, including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, and other system integration platforms.
• A local and stable work history is required to ensure familiarity with regional standards and minimize client downtime.
