AppleOne is assisting a law firm in Altamonte Springs that is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney for their small but busy law firm. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience with discovery, trials and hearings. Experience with dependency matters is a plus. This is a full-time, in office position with benefits. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting research, preparing documents, attending hearings/trial, and negotiating on behalf of clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and guidance
- Build trustworthy relationships with clients and communicate to understand their legal concerns and needs and to help provide them advice so they understand their options and possible outcomes
- Stay informed about current legislation
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings and contracts in a timely and accurate manner
- Negotiate settlements
- Perform legal research
- Attend court appearances as necessary
- Hold initial consultations with potential clients
- Assist with the discovery process by answering and issuing written discovery, administering depositions, and examining documents
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Family Law
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Quick and effective research skills to prepare quality legal strategies for clients and perform in-depth research to support a case
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate information effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn large amounts of information into manageable and usable data for a case
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a high case load
- Membership in the Florida Bar
- Willingness to meet personally as well as virtually with clients
- Ability to work on a case independently, as well as with a team to develop strategies for a case
- Reliable listening skills to effectively obtain all necessary information from clients and other people important to a case
- Ability to prioritize and meet multiple and competing deadlines
