The Recreation Department offers high quality leisure programs and services that promote healthy and active lifestyles. Engaging programs from dance to martial arts and yoga, day camps as well as sports allow individuals and families the opportunity to meet their physical and social needs.
DUTIES
Provide information to the public about all City of Troy Recreation Programs.
Process Community Center pass/membership applications, Recreation program registrations and park shelter reservations.
Interact with public in person, by phone, and online.
Assist in monitoring and coordinating activities/meetings in the non-recreation areas of the Community Center.
Maintain marketing materials and assist in the marketing of Recreation Programs.
Assist in proofing publications for the Recreation Department.
Enforce rules and regulations in order to ensure a safe environment.
Provide assistance to other full and part-time employees.
Attend to accidents, maintenance requests and incidents.
May give tours, perform minor maintenance tasks and general office tasks.
Be knowledgeable about the City of Troy and assist public with referrals to other City Departments.
Perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Demonstrate ability and/or experience working with Windows-based computers.
Ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public, recreation staff, recreation volunteers, and other City departments.
Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, fast-paced environment, using excellent organizational and time management skills.
PREFERENCES
Prefer experience in processing sales, registrations.
Prefer CPR and First Aid Certification.
Prefer knowledge and experience with Recreation activities and programs.
HOURS
Year-round. Range of 14 - 28 hours per week. Flexible availability desired for other days and evenings as required. Opportunities may exist to work additional weekdays as a substitute.
Probable Shifts: 7:45am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-5:00pm
