Job Description

Job Title: VP, Procurement Strategy

Type: Contract

Start Date: March 2025

Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension and/or Full Time conversion)

Location: Whippany, NJ (HYBRID role)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Compensation: $62 to $67 per hour

The company is committed to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and delivering value to stakeholders through efficient and sustainable business practices. Its procurement division plays a critical role in optimizing supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring seamless execution of enterprise-wide initiatives.


They are currently seeking a seasoned professional to serve as their VP of Procurement Strategy, supporting the delivery of programs related to their Procurement Value Plan. This role within the Procurement Client Team requires a dynamic individual capable of leading discussions, managing stakeholder relationships, and executing projects aligned with our quality standards and timelines.


Key Responsibilities:


Stakeholder Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization.
  • Act as a trusted business advisor, representing Procurement interests.
  • Ensure alignment between Business Unit/Function and Procurement strategies, serving as the primary interface to all Procurement domains.

Project Management & PMO:

  • Oversee the development and execution of procurement-related projects and business change programs.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with quality standards.

Program Execution:

  • Input and obtain relevant commercial information from strategic planning processes and Change/SI Portfolios to inform Category Plans and the Procurement agenda.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Supplier Management domains to drive supply base optimization, aligning services under group-wide agreements.

Supply Chain Value Delivery:

  • Work with stakeholders to establish a demand roadmap, translating it into resource requirements for sourcing execution functions.
  • Leverage supply market and business knowledge pertinent to third-party outsourcing services.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven project management experience, with a track record of leading successful procurement and business change programs.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain value delivery and third-party outsourcing services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
