Position Summary:

As a Package Engineer you will be responsible for the package and process development from conception through execution to meet customer initiatives. You will work closely with cross functional teams to execute the customer’s vision. You will drive continuous improvement projects to reduce Pre-Sale turnaround time. .


Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage package development requests from conception through launch. Package development includes primary, secondary and tertiary packaging designs.

2. Responsible for qualifying packaging through line trials and various testing requirements. Leads pre and post line trial meetings.

3. Creates and maintains project timelines to support the timely execution of each project.

4. Works closely with Sales and Customers to develop new products through kick-off, development and status meetings.

5. Interface with Operations, Lab, Quality, Customer Project Managers, and Estimating.

6. Uses SPC and can interpret run data (average, std. deviation, range, Cpk, Ppk, etc.).

7. Creates SolidWork and ArtiosCAD drawings used for customer specification and sign-off.

8. Conducts unit cavity data reviews and makes recommendations prior to moving into production.

9. Provide technical guidance for packaging, materials, and technologies.

10. Active participation in identifying new and improved processes that will result in reduced turnaround time of the New Product Development Process.

11. Responsible for qualifying new materials and components as part of the standard product offering.



Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  2. Minimum of 3 - 4 years in proven package development project work/quality experience, preferably in the cosmetics, consumer goods or related field.
  3. Proficient in using MS office, SolidWorks Software, and ArtiosCAD knowledge in AutoCAD. Capable of building presentations on Excel and/or PowerPoint.
  4. Good communication skills, to be able to deal effectively with all levels of our organization and our suppliers.
  5. Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials, and information.
  6. Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
  7. Technical competency in analysis of geometric objects in 2- and 3-dimensions including understanding of fill capacity, tolerances, fit and finish of packaging components and subcomponents
  8. Ability to work independently, initiate and lead tasks within defined projects in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Resolves and/or escalates issues properly.
  10. Assume lead role of special projects as needed.
