Registered Nurse – Pre-Op / PACU
Facility: Glens Falls Hospital
Location: Glens Falls, NY
Department: Pre-Op / PACU
Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary
Glens Falls Hospital is seeking an experienced Pre-Op / PACU RN to provide pre-procedural and post-block monitoring for surgical patients. The ideal candidate must have experience in pre-procedural admissions, assisting with blocks, and monitoring patients post-block. Experience in conscious sedation is required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Admit and prepare patients for surgery.
Assist with nerve blocks and monitor patients post-block.
Administer and monitor conscious sedation as needed.
Ensure accurate documentation in EPIC (Required).
Monitor vital signs and assess patient status pre- and post-procedure.
Follow de-escalation training protocols (Welle, CPI, or PMCS required).
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and PACU staff.
Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital policies.
NO Call and NO Charge Responsibilities.
Qualifications and Skills
License: Active RN license in New York (Required).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Pre-Op / PACU experience required.
Certifications:
BLS & ACLS (Required).
PALS (Preferred).
Skills:
Pre-procedural admissions, assisting with blocks, and post-block monitoring.
Conscious sedation experience required.
EPIC EMR experience required.
De-escalation training (Welle, CPI, or PMCS) required.
