$120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Job Overview:

The IT Manager is expected to assume a pivotal and strategic position at the forefront of the organization's technological landscape. The role is multifaceted, encompassing orchestration, coordination, and direction of all computer-related activities. The IT Manager is required to wield expertise to meticulously assess the intricate technological needs of the company, culminating in informed decisions regarding both hardware and software solutions.

A linchpin in the responsibilities of the IT Manager involves acting as the primary liaison with external vendors, assuming a critical role in the establishment and maintenance of the Laboratory Information System (LIMS) at the cutting-edge facilities in Irvine and Garden Grove. In this context, the IT Manager's experience with LIMS will be more than an asset – it will be a driving force ensuring the seamless integration and optimal functionality of this mission-critical system.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert and system administrator for our IT infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the seamless implementation and maintenance of new IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Policy Development: Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures related to IT, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and act on opportunities to enhance and update software and systems, keeping our technology landscape at the forefront of innovation.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and implement IT policies and best practice guides for the organization, fostering a culture of technological excellence.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with IT vendors to fulfill business needs, negotiate contracts, and maintain productive partnerships.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and share regular operation system reports with senior staff, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate a strong understanding of service desk operations, desktop and server support, networking, network security, computer operations, and customer service principles.
  • Security Assurance: Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems, implementing robust measures to safeguard critical information.
  • Project Management: Display flexibility and creativity to succeed in meeting exceedingly tight project timelines, ensuring successful and timely project delivery.
  • Team Management: Identify the need for additional IT personnel and act as a supervisor when the department grows, manage external MSP (Managed Service Provider) team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • DevOps Management: Oversee the implementation and optimization of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment strategies to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and system reliability.
  • Data Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations by implementing data governance policies, monitoring data integrity, cross collaboration with quality department, and maintaining secure access controls to protect sensitive healthcare information.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration or equivalent years of working experience in IT.
  • 7+ years of experience in Information Technology – Required
  • Prior Experience with LIMS systems preferred.
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert in Microsoft 365.
  • Thorough understanding of CIS principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Strong leadership skills, personal drive, and ability to see projects through to execution.
  • Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
