Platform Engineer
Our client is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Service Platform team within the Compute Platforms and Developer Experience (CPDX) organization. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of global technology platforms, simplifying cloud infrastructure, and enabling faster, more efficient platform development. The ideal candidate will have strong Kubernetes experience and a passion for innovation in cloud-native technologies.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of technical solutions for a Kubernetes Foundational Platform.
• Develop Kubernetes controllers and implement GitOps deployment of CNCF components.
• Provide technical coaching and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in security, observability, availability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define clear technical requirements.
• Influence development standards, ways of working, and training initiatives.
• Document and present technology solutions to internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience operating Kubernetes-based solutions in production.
• Expertise in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems on public cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure layers.

Preferred

• Experience developing Kubernetes controllers in Golang.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Crossplane.
• Ability to create cloud-agnostic solutions.
• Experience navigating governance and compliance requirements for global platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams in a matrixed environment.

Compensation: $79.33/hr. (DOE)
