The Market Transformation Operations Manager will play a key role in the growth and success of the market transformation department by overseeing department operations and administrative functions. This includes contract and budget management, supporting hiring and onboarding for new staff in our growing team, planning and coordinating team retreats and program events, helping to develop systems and processes to increase efficiency and impact of our work, and managing a team of cross functional staff.

The will work within the Market transformation department, the home base for our Efficient Technology Accelerator program (etamn.org) and energy codes work. Our department works on deploying emerging technologies rapidly and working to make efficiency and low carbon solutions the new normal. We are highly collaborative both externally to achieve these goals and are also highly cross functional with other areas of the organization.
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Market Transformation and will be a member of the department's team of senior managers.
Responsibilities:Budget Management and Work planning - Manage Market Transformation Department contract compliance, workplan development process, and tracking, invoicing support, and client communication.
- Develop and facilitate processes and systems for ongoing budget management including tools that empower managers to manage their budgets effectively and efficiently.
- Manage department procurement process for subcontractors and work with CEE's contracts team to ensure compliance with state requirements.
- Provide support to team administrative functions, including but not limited to: support for billing, pulling reports on an ad hoc basis, and project management support.
Staff management and team building- Support department staffing plan with input from senior management and HR. Identify department gaps and work with HR to manage postings, recruiting, assisting with hiring process.
- Supervise cross functional and support staff to effectively deploy resources across initiatives, manage time allocations, performance management, and career development.
- Facilitate department team building, culture building and staff development. Contribute to and foster a team environment of high performance, satisfaction, and retention.
Internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication - Support department communications to ensure that staff have relevant information to carry out job functions and to facilitate collaboration.
- Assist external and internal stakeholder engagement communications.
- Strengthen event planning and management for the department and for individual technology initiatives.
- Capture key needs action items from senior manager group and ensure follow-up.
- Other duties as assigned.
Systems optimization and process improvement- Manage the customization and efficient utilization of department software (with support from IT and others) including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, project management software and Microsoft Teams.
- Document existing department operations and create best practice guides to ensure alignment across the department and optimize efficiency.
- Identify efficient ways to optimize collaboration and connection intra- and extra- departmentally.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in a similar role leading operations or administrative management.
- 2+ years experience in supervision or project leadership.
- Demonstrated experience with project management, including ability to manage, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
- Experience with contract and budget administration.
- Experience with process improvement and documenting operations.
- Demonstrated proactive problem solving and team building experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up.
- Ability to stay organized and maintain communication in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with software tools such as Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, and project management software.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and external partners.
