Position: Project Manager

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Director of Project Services, the Project Manager (PM) is responsible for execution of projects from order receipt through final invoicing. The PM is directly responsible for all customer commercial communications, facilitating schedule compliance, maintaining the project cost summary, and administering all Job & Order Change Notices.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
• Responsible for both internal and external communication concerning project scope, costs, and deliverable details.
• In concert with the Proposal Manager, review and comment on the customer draft PO.
• Review labor and material estimates with Proposal Manager to understand cost basis assumptions.
• Review Item numbers with Proposal Manager to ensure consistency prior to order entry into PK.
• Be the 'facilitator' throughout the execution of the project to ensure schedule compliance.
• Communicate with Production Control and the manufacturing plants to maintain fabrication progress and critical customer milestones.
• Participate in the development of baseline schedules and assist with Schedule Impact Assessments (SIA) as required, exhausting all viable options prior to moving customer ship date. Provide schedule status updates to Customer.
• Support the procurement process by assisting in the following activities, as required: evaluation of supplier quotations, price and/or delivery negotiations, supplier pre-award meetings, and resolution of supplier related issues.
• Travel as required to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Maintain project cost summary and revise as required throughout the contract term.
• Initiate all project invoicing and support accounting in the timely collection of receivables.
• Help with updating the Key Order Review (KOR) notes for assigned projects.
• Give project status at the KOR Meeting.
• Assist Engineering with the administration of Job Change Notices (JCN) and issue Order Change Notices (OCN) to the clients for approval. Ensure closure of JCN's and OCN's on assigned projects.
• Work well within a team atmosphere and contribute accordingly.
• Work in a respectful and professional manner with fellow employees, management and clients.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

Education/ Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, a related field, or equivalent experience is required
• Five years' technical experience preferred
• Prior project management experience preferred
• Prior estimating experience beneficial
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Superior time management skills
• Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
• Effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Ability to negotiate
• Prioritizing and handling multiple tasks
• Ability to grasp mechanical and some chemical technologies related to specialty projects
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid driver's license and passport
