JOB SUMMARY:The Utah Hockey Club is seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Entertainment, Production, and Game Presentation to lead the strategic vision of the in-arena entertainment experience for Utah Hockey Club games at Delta Center. This individual must exemplify the ability to create and produce world-class events, using current technology and engagement trends while ensuring brand standards and successful partner integrations. This person will oversee all game presentation and entertainment staff including in-arena hosts, mascot, crowd crew, entertainment teams, game-night staff, music staff, and other entertainment assets for the Utah Hockey Club.
We are looking for a forward-thinking leader who knows how to entertain large audiences and values attention to detail in producing best-in-class events. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing live entertainment events inside or outside the sports industry and someone who can put the Utah Hockey Club at the top of the list for live sports entertainment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Oversee the creation and production of the in-arena presentation for all Utah Hockey Club home games and Utah Hockey Club related events at Delta Center
- Work closely with the Vice President of Marketing in leading cross-functional and strategic long-term planning for the Utah Hockey Club Game Presentation departments
- Challenge the team to conceptualize and continually produce innovative ways for the department to develop in-arena entertainment and enhance fan engagement year-over-year
- Establish regular evaluations to adapt the Game Presentation and Production elements to deliver quality contract fulfillment, event day execution, customer satisfaction, and team synergy including but not limited to video, sound, and entertainment elements
- Lead pre-game rehearsals for all show elements
- Collaborate closely with the marketing and brand departments to create in-arena content that is compelling, on-brand, and in alignment with the overarching brand strategy
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Partnership and New Business departments to develop in-game promotions that maximize the fan experience and partnership satisfaction
- Research new talent in the music and entertainment industries to enhance the entertainment experience
- Provide direction to all entertainers and game night staff to ensure every contest, performance, and sponsored element is properly executed
- Ensure compliance with NHL regulations and track/follow up on all aspects of Game Presentation
- Oversee and allocate budgets and resources for Game Presentation and Production department initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
- 7-10 years of experience producing live entertainment, sports, or a related field
- While NHL Game Presentation experience is preferred we encourage candidates with relevant experience outside of sports such as concert production, Broadway, Cirque du Soleil, or Disney events to apply
- 5+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role in live entertainment production including the development of both full-time and part-time staff
- Must be willing to multi-task, handle multiple projects at once, be self-directed, work independently, and handle creative direction/feedback
- Must have superior organizational skills
- Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding interpersonal relationships; a strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence is imperative
- Must demonstrate a keen understanding of current pop culture trends and an ability to integrate those trends into entertaining elements within the run-of-show
- Must be able to work well in a collaborative group environment and be a flexible and reliable team player (both within own department and company as a whole)
- Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling sensitive information
- Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Mandatory attendance at all Utah Hockey Club home games and other Delta Center events as needed
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must possess the ability to walk, sit, and stand while directing events for long and potentially extended periods in an arena setting
- Must possess the ability to work with technology and on a computer for long and potentially extended periods in an arena setting
