General Manager Trainees - Early CareerBonus EligibilityNorthpoint Roofing Systems, a renowned roofing company known for its commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction and ranked 653 on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list, is looking for Sales Managers to oversee operations of a small division, including operations and production, while training to become a General Manager.
Under the direction of the General Manager, Sales Managers' primary responsibility is to recruit and train a high performing outside sales team of Roofing Advisors (insurance & retail sales) and Frontline Salespersons to drive growth of the business. In addition to leading a sales team and attaining sales goals, other responsibilities include onboarding staff, managing attendance, employee development and motivation and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Hire, train, motivate, and advise team of outside salespersons (Roofing Advisors and Frontline Salespersons).
- Execute policies and procedures in alignment with Company guidelines and objectives and applicable regulations
- Generate new business, and establish and nurture client relationships
- Develop and execute strategies to increase sales, grow customer base
- Collaborate closely with General Manager to execute outside sales activities that support the business strategy defined by senior leadership
- Upon successful completion of sales, work closely with accounting to manage commission plans and calculate commission earnings
- Identify and establish relationships with major OEMs, contractors and partners in the market
- Constantly recruit to cycle out low performers and keep teams at full capacity; encourage a culture of constant recruiting within the team
- Document all sales activity in database with a high degree of accuracy and correctness
- Meet with staff in-person weekly as well as conduct one-on-one meetings to discuss job progress and work performance and to establish a good rapport with direct reports
- Lead daily AM meetings and debrief at the end of the day
- Make suggestions regarding process improvements and assist with the implementation of new systems and processes
- Work with leadership to develop standardized training for new Roofing Advisors
- Assess employee performance and provide helpful feedback and training; conduct annual performance evaluations alongside General Manager
- Organize and attend targeted industry events; attend job fairs, trade shows, team events and hiring events for recruitment
- Attend department meetings, keep current on sales information, products, and industry trends
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- Managerial experience with a focus on internal goals, team performance and employee retention
- 5+ years of experience in sales/business development within the home services industry (HVAC, Plumbing, Roofing, Pest, etc.)
- Experience in both retail and insurance roofing sales preferred
- Comfortable working with technology; iPad based CRM, email, basic computer skills
- Availability to travel as needed; must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to lead with confidence; support team; take responsibility and lead by example
- Documented performance of increasing revenue
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to foster collaboration and achieve collective sales goals
- Familiarity with tablets, Apple iPads (iPadOS)
- Proficiency (intermediate) with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
