As the Executive Producer of Live Events, North America for the POLITICO Media Group, you will lead the strategic vision for our event portfolio throughout the United States and across North America, engaging global influencers immersed in politics and policy. Your remit will be to further establish POLITICO as the leading voice on politics and policy. Events will serve as forums for impactful, relevant, and urgent conversations about politics and policy while elevating POLITICO's brand with global influencers and deeply engaging our subscribers with unparalleled experiences across our key markets. As a premium experience of the POLITICO brand for an engaged audience, events will also serve as an essential funnel into our ecosystem, feeding our various revenue streams.
You will drive the conceptualization, planning and execution of events that provide invaluable insights into pressing global policy questions, foster deep connections and drive thought leadership. You will partner closely with the Executive Producer of Live Events, Europe, to evolve our successful live events businesses on both continents into a globally unified division that provides a thriving, growing and profitable revenue stream for the company. Successfully expanding the business will require collaboration with journalists from throughout our worldwide newsrooms and with revenue leaders in the US and Europe.
This role requires a strategic leader with extreme agility, a deep understanding of global public policy debates and industry dynamics, exceptional relationship-building skills and a track record of delivering high-impact events across for free and subscriber audiences. Exceptional editorial judgment with a proven ability to set and drive editorial and creative direction is also required.
What You'll Do:- Develop a strategy to inflect growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive content, editorial and business strategy to grow POLITICO's events business in North America. Evolve our existing domestic live business that predominantly serves the Washington market and expand our events portfolio to new markets (California, NY, and "global" events). Drive wallet retention rate.
- Position POLITICO as a thought leader and the pre-eminent brand at the intersection of policy and politics: Showcase our worldwide newsrooms' expertise by delivering high-quality events that engage industry influencers and stakeholders and drive meaningful conversations on critical policy issues.
- Curate compelling programming that highlights the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping industries and programming that attracts high profile speakers and the right attendees. Deliver news making events.
- Deliver revenue growth: partner with the Media Solutions team and the Professional Subscriptions team to develop an events strategy that meets the objectives of industry partners and drives revenue growth, including by bringing potential clients and subscribers into our POLITICO ecosystem .
- Lead and inspire a team of events professionals and journalists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive excellence. In partnership with the EP of Live Events, Europe, unify the current US and European events teams into a single division that spans multiple time zones.
- Expand our Audience: Identify opportunities to expand the reach and impact of POLITICO in our key markets and industries.
- Collaborate across departments and geographies to elevate the importance of the live experience, including building consensus on strategic vision, securing buy-in across editorial and business, updating executives and key stakeholders on successes and challenges and bringing sustainable growth to the portfolio.
