Job Description
POLITICO is seeking an ambitious, experienced reporter to cover the White House. The reporter will join a team covering one of Washington's most challenging and exciting beats - the White House - just as one president finishes his term and a newly elected president prepares to take office.

We're looking for a reporter who can write authoritatively about the news behind the news, delivering competitive and lively coverage surrounding the president, administration policymaking, key decisionmakers and dynamics in the West Wing.

The reporter will collaborate closely with our Congress and national security reporters as well as our policy teams to offer our readers indispensable coverage of the intersection of policy and politics.

The reporter will deliver high-impact journalism across all our digital platforms, writing a mix of breaking news, quick-turn enterprise, longer-term deep dives and contributing to our daily newsletter.

What You'll Need:

  • A track record of developing smart, sophisticated stories that drive the conversation
  • Strong reporting skills with an ability to develop sources and break news
  • Experience writing clearly and accurately on deadline, both breaking news and broader enterprise stories
  • Proven ability to handle a demanding job in a fast-paced newsroom

We are driven by our values. We are relentless contributors, disruptors of the status quo, collaborators, talent cultivators and DEI stewards. Our culture is defined by grit, total integrity and a prioritization on innovation.

We value our people. Click here for more on what we offer and what it's like to work for POLITICO.
