What you’ll do Pension Risk Transfer Consulting Services: Support clients in identifying their goals for their defined benefit pension plans. Develop go-to-market strategies to meet client objectives and improve the marketability of annuity purchase transactions. Coordinate the strategy implementation with the market, the various stakeholders, and TELUS Health’s teams of experts. Coordinate the RFPs process and contract negotiations.
Client Relationship Management: Using your comprehensive understanding of pension risk transfer, offer proactive and informed consulting services, build and maintain strong relationships with internal client teams and clients, and provide integrated solutions and complete supervision of risk transfer operations.
Insurers/Reinsurers Relationship Management: Develop and maintain solid and trust-based business relationships with insurers in the Canadian pension risk transfer market and with reinsurers.
Communications and Disclosure: Give effective, clear and concise explanations of complex concepts to clients and stakeholders. Leverage your knowledge of industry developments and emerging trends in the risk transfer market.
Business Development: Play a key role in driving business growth for Consulting Services by identifying new business opportunities with existing and new clients, positioning TELUS Health as a leader in the pension risk management and risk transfer market.
Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate a team and optimize its operational effectiveness. Lead team engagement by providing mentorship, guidance and regular constructive feedback to team members, fostering their professional development. Ensure effective teamwork and team spirit, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
What you bring More than 10 years of experience in pension consulting
Professional actuarial accreditation an asset (e.g., FCIA, FSA or ASA)
Solid understanding of the various pension schemes and actuarial standards of practice within the Public and Private sectors, including risk assessment and financial projections
Mastery of pension risk management and risk transfer concepts.
In-depth knowledge of Canada’s pension risk transfer market
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and financial markets, as well as new developments and emerging trends in the pension industry
Proven ability to develop relationships at the highest levels of client organizations
Ability to identify new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and meet budget and profitability targets
Proven leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills (proficiency in French is an added advantage
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
