The Functional Lead - Pension Benefit Calculation is an effective leader with a high-level understanding of our overall solution, detailed knowledge of its Defined Benefit Pension component, and comprehension of how this component interacts with the overall solution. They manage deliverables of a multidisciplinary team of business analysts and calculation auditors, with overall responsibility for delivering functionalities related to the Defined Benefit Pension Plan component, while meeting quality expectations and deadlines.
At TELUS Health, this role will provide the selected candidate with unparalleled expertise in pension calculation and pension administration solutions and functionalities in the Canadian and U.S. markets. Through our multiple projects implementing solutions for new customers across North America, you'll have the opportunity to learn and participate in automating an impressive array of features. Primary Responsibilities
Present the defined benefit pension portion of our solution to clients
Represent client needs to our product development team
Coordinate interactions between different implementation teams
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for problem-solving
Determine and manage implementation team priorities
Perform continuous planning of deliverables
Control project scope according to contract specifications
Identify potential risks and problems proactively
Ensure deliverables meet client expectations
Oversee pension plan rule analysis documentation
Work closely with the product development team
Contribute to continuous improvement of implementation processes
Qualifications Required
Education
University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, project management, or other relevant field
Continuing education in actuarial science (an asset)
Experience
10 years of relevant experience in defined benefit pension plans
OR 5-7 years with a degree in actuarial science, or in mathematics with a focus on actuarial science
Experience with Canadian and/or U.S. pension plans
Experience in verification of pension plan calculations
Technical Skills
Proficiency in pension calculation tools
Knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar project management tools (asset)
Fluency in English (written and verbal)
Proficiency in Excel
VBA programming (asset)
