JOB DESCRIPTION:
n
CNAs work under the direction of a licensed nurse (RN) to provide daily nursing and personal care to residents and patients by the individual’s plan of care. This position is responsible for tending to residents' physical and emotional needs while ensuring they are comfortable and safe and maintaining good hygiene and personal cleanliness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for assisting residents in their activities of daily living according to their care plan for assigned residents
n n- n
Bathing residents either by bed bath, shower, or tub
n n- n
Assists residents in getting dressed or completely dressing residents if unable to dress themselves
n n- n
Assists residents in using the toilet if unable
n n- n
Wash, clean, and keep residents dry if unable to use the toilet
n n- n
Assists residents in getting in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, lounge chairs, tubs, scales, and other equipment used in resident care
n n- n
Transports residents from place to place by wheelchair or walkers or supports them as they walk
n n- n
Lifts and repositions residents utilizing lift equipment and assistance from other team members as needed
n n- n
Helps residents with meals, passes meal trays, allows them to set up before eating, or may be required to feed as needed totally.

Records meal consumption per policy

Other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, or designee

REQUIREMENTS:
n

Minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
n n- n
Registered by the New York State Nurse Aide Registry
n n- n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n n- n
Able to follow written and verbal instructions
n n- n
Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
n n- n
Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
n n
n
