Production Planner

On-site: City of Industry, CA

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to manage and monitor the entire production process from order receipt through production, packaging, and shipping phases. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, Customer Service, and Production to ensure timely delivery and alignment with customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, production planning, and capacity analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the progress of customer orders from initial receipt through production, packaging, and shipping.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors on a daily/weekly basis regarding order status.
  • Transform customer orders into the Master Planning Schedule (MPS) and/or production plans.
  • Ensure that inventory, raw materials, and necessary resources are in stock and available for production.
  • Analyze production plans for capacity and manpower, identifying trends and constraints on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to prioritize customer and internal requests.
  • Work closely with customers supply chain teams to assist in long-range and short-range forecasting.
  • Support the Customer Service team by resolving customer issues and ensuring senior management is informed of any order-related problems.
  • Coordinate and participate in production meetings, contributing to the planning and implementation of project goals.
  • Assist in developing Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Leverage supply chain systems to streamline scheduling processes and improve efficiency.
  • Follow departmental SOPs, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • BA/BS in Business or a related field from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food industries is preferred.
  • Experience working in a contract manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
