Job Overview
We currently have an opening for a part-time Respiratory Therapist to join our Portland, OR team. Provides quality care, utilizing best practice standards for Respiratory Care to improve the health and welfare of pediatric patients in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Assists in planning and developing the scope and emphasis of Respiratory Care Services in coordination with the identified needs of patients and families. Assists in organizing and delivering medically prescribed respiratory care to inpatients and/or outpatients both pre-operatively and post-operatively to facilitate the rehabilitation of children with orthopedic conditions in conjunction with the National Board of Respiratory Care and departmental policies for treatment and procedures.
Schedule: Part-Time, 12 hours weekly
Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year
Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.
Responsibilities
Patient Care Activities
• Provides direct patient care: evaluates and treats each patient with appropriate interventions based on patient's need, medical necessity, developmental appropriateness, and physician order.
Communication
• Effectively communicates patient care needs with medical, nursing and ancillary staff.
Teamwork
• Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling of shifts as need arises for the best interest of the department and patient needs.
Documentation
• Provides thorough, accurate, inpatient and outpatient documentation, in compliance with department, hospital and Joint Commission policies.

Qualifications
Required
  • Associate in Respiratory Therapy
  • 2 years experience as respiratory care practitioner
  • National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Licensed in state of OR
Preferred
  • Bachelor in Respiratory Therapy
  • 1 year expereince in pediatrics
  • 1 year experience in critical care
