Job Overview Shriners Children's is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Shriners Children's Hawaii. After a period of training, this clinician will be expected to evaluate and treat a wide variety of pediatric orthopedic patients independently in both a perioperative and clinic setting. Schedule will be either 4 10 hour day shifts or 5 8 hour day shifts. At this time there is no call or weekend work, this may become necessary in the future. Compensation ranges from $46.98 to $80.54 hourly, depending on education and experience.
Responsibilities - Evaluate, treat and educate patients presenting with disabilities, injuries, and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system under the direct of the supervising physician as delineated by HI state law
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Collaborate with other members of the care team for comprehensive patient care
- Document notes, including history, and physical examination data, daily notes, discharge summaries, impressions and plan of care
- Assist in the operating room
Qualifications - Master of Science in Nursing or higher required
- ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (or equivalent) board certification as a PNP or FNP required
- Active HI RN license required
- Valid HI APRN license with prescriptive authority required
- Active DEA license required
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be completed within one year of hire
- 3+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatrics and/or orthopedics highly preferred. New graduates will also be considered.
