Project: Climate Change and Older Adults: Engaging Primary Care in Disaster Response Organization: Institute on Aging at PSU Location: Remote Paid: No Duration: Flexible, 1 term (3 months) Preceptor: Jackie Kohon – Senior Research Associate II Start Date: 1/6/2025 Project Description: This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand about the grant proposal development process. This project will develop an NIH grant proposal with guidance from two researchers (Jackie Kohon: PSU, Institute on Aging and Tamar Wyte-Lake: OHSU, Family Medicine) aimed at exploring the role of primary care teams in supporting the disaster preparedness of their patients in federally qualified health centers (FQHC) and community health centers (CHC) in the Pacific Northwest. This position requires a student with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and strong time management skills to meet specific deadlines for a grant proposal development process. This project will involve organizing internal deadlines and checklists to manage the grant proposal process, as well as conducting literature reviews and writing text of the grant proposal. This RA may be involved in reaching out to potential partners and facilitating the delivery of necessary components of the grant application (e.g., MOUs, etc.).
