Position Summary Our SPH is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and we are committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. We are working to center social justice in our internal and external work as a school and are committed to addressing structural and institutional racism, and to holding ourselves accountable to this work. We seek a faculty colleague with broad expertise related to public health with the ability to teach across several areas of our School, including health equity, healthy aging, and public health practice. This faculty position will teach and advise in both our undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a robust program of research and scholarship, seek extramural funding, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and advise and mentor master’s degree and PhD students. All faculty are expected to participate in program and School governance, and to engage with community organizations in collaborative research, consultation and service activities. Primary Activity Instructional Minimum Qualifications Beginning or developed track record of published scholarship and externally funded activity. Developing or demonstrated history of community engagement and collaboration. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, both virtually and in person. Demonstrated experience supporting, overseeing, or directing undergraduate public health curriculum or programs. Ability to train students in public health practice. Evidence of successful student learning outcomes. Experience with contributions to undergraduate course and curriculum development. Effective organizational, time management, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals from and topics related to diverse populations. Doctoral Degree in Public Health or related discipline. Key Cultural Competencies Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be between $71,163 and $79,740, but may be negotiated above this range dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. An excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
