Make salads, dressings, gelatin, toast, or sandwiches; grill sandwiches, pancakes, eggs, French toast, and hash browns. Clean, cut, and chop vegetables and fruits; slice meats, cheeses, and breads; cut desserts. Adjust recipe quantities to eliminate excessive waste of food products. Fill drink machines, mix beverages, make coffee, and prepare sack lunches or snacks. Use various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, and choppers. Check for proper temperature of prepared foods with thermometer. Serve food from steam tables and assist with cashiering duties as assigned. Transport food back and forth from the kitchen to the cafes, clean tables, mop floors, stock utensils, cups and beverages. Minimum Requirements: Good understanding of math, customer service, cleanliness, and food handling skills. Oregon Food Handlers Card. Compliance with Code of Conduct, Respect in the workplace, and applicable policies, procedures, and agreements related to position, department, or OHSU as a whole. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. 6 months of food service experience. ServSafe Certificate. Additional Details: Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.64 per hour (Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity) Exposure to loud noise, heat, grease, and cold.
