Job Description: Project Manager/Estimator

Location: Guelph, ON

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join a dynamic and growing team in Guelph, ON. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing and estimating projects across Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI), Residential, and Civil sectors . This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of the local market and sub-trades, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and requires minimal supervision to deliver excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management:
  • Lead and oversee multiple construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, sub-trades, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and resolve any issues that arise promptly.
  • Estimating:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine costs.
  • Identify and negotiate with sub-trades and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
  • Provide value engineering options to optimize project budgets and schedules.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Build strong relationships with local sub-trades and suppliers.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Strategic Growth:
  • Actively contribute to the company’s growth platform by identifying opportunities for improvement and expansion.
  • Support and mentor junior staff as part of our professional development initiative.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management and Cost Estimation within the construction industry in Canada.
  • Proven track record of managing projects in ICI, Residential, and Civil sectors .
  • Strong knowledge of local sub-trades, suppliers, and market conditions in the Guelph area.
  • Proficient in construction management software and cost estimating tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
